The appointment will be through Google's Meet platform on Wednesday June 16 at 9 in the morning. The course seeks to train field staff in the use of the digital tool available to the institution.

One of the main obstacles to the regional livestock production sector in Magallanes is the lack of technologies that allow improving sustainable management and decision-making in real time, to positively impact their profitability and property management of natural grasslands.

In response to this difficulty, the INIA Kampenaike Regional Center for Agricultural Research has a specialized digital Herbarium for the livestock sector, located on its website, which can also be used simultaneously on smartphones almost like an application .

It is a digital tool that guides farmers so that they learn to recognize the condition of their natural pastures from the identification of the plant species they have in their fields.

For the correct use and to take advantage of the maximum potential of this tool, the botanist and researcher of INIA Kampenaike, Erwin Domínguez, will carry out a course to train field personnel, administrators, ranchers, agricultural officials and agronomy students, in the use of this innovative technical tool, developed in the Magallanes region, to improve the sustainability of the field.

The objective of the training is "for farmers to take advantage of and turn the digital herbarium into a tool that helps them in making decisions, to choose the best pastures according to the species that indicate the condition of the natural pasture," Domínguez pointed out.

Given the current health reality that afflicts the country, the course will be held through Google's Meet platform. Those interested in participating must fill out the registration form available at the following link:

The course, which is open to the community, will take place on June 16 from 9:00 a.m. (Magellan time). For those who want to know the Digital Herbarium, it is available on the web:
