INIA's finality is to offer its technologies and knowledge to users, who may apply them and improve on the results, thus contributing to the development of Chilean agriculture. At times, these technologies are converted into products and services utilized by the agricultural and livestock sector, not only locally but also internationally.

INIA provides information about its research activities through a network of libraries, scientific and informative publications, as well as training and extension activities. On the other hand, it has a number of laboratories which offer diagnosis services and adequate solutions for a wide range of areas, such as crop fertilization, plant diseases, animal nutrition and industrial quality products.

Some of these services are free of charge, although a contract is required. Others require funding from users, and the resources are used to keep up our services or finance further research needed to update the required technological knowledge.
