Institute of Agricultural Research

The Research-Development concept adopted by INIA means to define the research objectives upon the requirements and needs of INIA's clients.

In other words, it means that research -since the beggining- is planned to end as a product or as an applicable final result.

INIA's actual organization, places Research-Development as one of the two national branches of the Institute. Nevertheless, at the same time, INIA has research lines oriented to produce basic knowledge to give support to the generated technologies.

Thus, INIA is permanently linked to people and institutions from Chile and abroad, that have the capacity to act as counterparts on research-development projects.

The main forms of information exchange and disclosure used by INIA, besides services and direct products of research, are training activities and technology transfer, the conduction of cooperation projects, publications and direct contact among researchers.
